question-and-answer

Questions & Answers is my latest project: an experiment in new, non-linear narrative forms, or what I’m calling data-as-narrative. But really it’s just a fun way to explore some of the crazy, interesting stuff people write online.

  1. I love it. Your interface changes the way I interact with the data. Because it is really easy to move from topic to topic, I can skip the boring ones and quickly choose a new topic. For me it is not about the expectation of finding any useful answers and much more about voyeurism. I enjoy seeing people write passionately about random topics like the appropriate size breed of cow to have as a pet or the positive and negative effects of building a dam.

Couple thoughts on the interface. I think you might be able to make your arrows suggestive of the arrow keys and then you could drop the intro screen with the instructions and start right in the interface. I also think it might be nice to have the search function available at all times. I also noticed some of the questions/responses looked like they got clipped. Maybe add a scrolling mechanism. Overall awesome though!

  2. I would also like to be able to cut and paste the text so I can share the ridiculous questions/answers with friends.
